9 Steps To An Easy At Home Facial!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

We’re probably stuck at home for awhile due to the Corona virus. This means a lot of free time at home and unfortunately no hair, nails or facial appointments. I’ve been seeing some funny memes going around about how we would look after the lockdown is over. To avoid looking like a total Gremlin when the lockdown is over here is my guide to an easy at home facial, that you can do up to two times a week.

  1. Double cleans your skin. (Firstly I cleans my skin using a konjac sponge with my oil-mix containing tea tree oil, baobab oil and jojoba oil. As a second cleanser I use the Kiehl’s Centella Sensitive Facial Cleanser)
  2. Steam your face for about 10-15 minutes. Boil water and put it in a bowl or pan. Don’t put it in a plastic bowl, you don’t want the plastic molecules steaming your face. You can add your favourite oil to the steaming water if you want to (I like to add tea tree oil). Drape a towel over your head, so it ‘falls’ down on the sides of your head and the bowl with steaming water, ‘trapping the steam’. Place your face close enough to the steaming water, but not too close, otherwise you might burn yourself.
  3. Extract white heads and black heads using a paper tissue. Be very gently with this, because you don’t want to damage your skin. And never, never, never ever do this with your nails or bare finger tops.
  4. Apply a face mask that is suitable for your skin type. (I usally use the double glow peel mask and the quenching mineral mask from Vichy)
  5. Use a toner to seal off the pores. If toner is too harsh for your skin you can skip this step or use micellair water.
  6. Apply a serum to deliver a strong shot of ingredients directly into your skin. (I use the Thermal Rehydrating Serum from Vichy)
  7. Apply your eye cream. The skin around your eyes is very thin and needs lots of moisture too! (I use the Aquaporin Active Revitalising Eye Care from Eucerin)
  8. Moisturize your face, because we all know by now moisturize is key. Even if you have oily skin it is still very important to moisturize your face (of course with a moisturizer for oily skin), because this can actually help extreme oiliness. (I use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm)
  9. And last but not least apply a lip balm to your lips. (I use the Intensive Lip Balm from Eucerin)

If you use an overnight face mask, you can apply the face mask before or after you’ve applied the serum. If you have any more questions or just want to share your at home facial experience please let me know!

Besos, Sarai Isabel.

P.S. I want to point out that I am fully aware that not being able to get a facial or your nails done is a luxury problem.

Beauty inspo of January ’20!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

After 237 days, we’ve finally come to the last day of January! My inspo of the month series are back in 2020. Lately I’ve been seeing the ‘soft glam’ trend on the Gram, which I absolutely love! But, I still love a good pop of colour here and there. So, here are my favourite make up looks I’ve come across on IG in the last month. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Sparkling Red!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

Your girl is back! When

when I began to do my make up, I had a completly different look in mind. But I let my creative juices flow and voila this look was created. Lately I’ve been loving warm red/orange and brown colours, which are perfect for fall. I tried something new and used glitters. Normally I am not a big fan of glitters, because they get everywhere! But I always try to push myself out of my comfortzone, so that I can learn and create new looks.  I aslo played around with the lighting to create differente kinds of pictures! Let me know what you think of this look and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Application tip: when you use glitters on the lid, make sure you put a shimmery eyeshadow in the same colour under it, so the glitter colour will really pop.

Pretty in Pink!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

Summer is almost here! Do you know what that means? Nice weather, summer clothes tanned skin and a LOT of make up with colour. Yes, I couldn’t be more happy! To kick it off I started with this pink look. Usually pink looks are very soft and romantic, done with ‘soft’ pink tones, but not this look. No, this gyal wanted something spicy, so I chose a more vibrant pink for my eye make up.

About the application:

I started with the eyes and then did my face (as always). I prefer doing the eyes first, so I can easily clean up the fallout under my eyes. For my eye make up I always start with the crease. I apply the lightest shade first and go darker as I go on. After that I carved out my lid with concealer and applied the shadow with a wet brush. For my face I always start with foundation, then apply 1 or 2 concealers. I then set my concealer with a setting loose setting powder and set my face with a face powder. After that I powder contour, highlight and apply blush. Lastly I do my lips and apply my lashes and tadaaa! A fully beat face.

If you have any questions about application of products or anything else, please let me know and I will respond as soos as possible!

Black Smokey Eye!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

One of the classics in make up land, yes the black smokey eye. And maybe also the most feared. Why? Cause a smokey eye gone wrong can look like you just got beaten and have a black eye because of that. Blending is KEY for this look (blending is always key, but especially for this look). And please don’t blend it with a silver eyeshadow, we left that ugliness behind in 2005! Try to to blend it with brown eyeshadows in your crease so the black eyeshadow will not look too hard on your face.

The way you blend everything together is also very very important. I learned this trick from a video I watched from the best aka Desi Perkins (I will post the link down below).
Keep in mind practice makes perfect. This look can be quite difficult, so don’t be afraid if it’s not perfect the first time. Play around with different shades of crease colours and master the art of blending! Let me know what you think of this look and show me your smokey eye look!
