¡Hola Guapas y guapos!

Here are my favourite outfits I’ve seen on the Gram last month. It was a little bit more difficult than usual to find some killer leeeeeewks, because of the quarantine and most of us are at home in sweats. I love that all the outfits are quite simplistic and super stylish at the same time. I hope you love it as much as I do!

6 Tips to fight acne!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

For quite some years now I have dealt with acne, to be precise since I was about 12. Luckily my skin is all cleared up now! These are my tips to help you in the fight against acne:

  1. Visit a dermatologist. This is the absolute key in fighting acne. The dermatologist can tell you what of acne you have and prescribe a recipe for medicine that works best with your type of acne.
  2. Consistency. Acne will not go away if you treat it once every couple of days. You need to be very consistent and probably treat it twice a day.
  3. Drink plenty  of water. This helps you purify your skin from within.
  4. Nutrition. Some foods and drinks actually cause/trigger acne, such as pork, dairy and sugar. Other foods like cucumber, nuts and fatty fish can help against acne. (This can differ from person to person)
  5. Hygiene. Do not and I repeat do not go to sleep with make up, this will only clog your pores. Use clean towels and change your bed sheets at least once a week, so that you can prevent bacteria getting on your skin. If you don’t have proper hygiene, your acne will come right back even if you treat it with medicine from the dermatologist.
  6. Regular facials. During a facial your skin will be, among other things, deep cleaned, whiteheads and blackheads will be removed and the blood circulation will be improved.
  7. Skincare. Find a good skin care routine that works for YOUR skin. What works for your friends skin doesn’t have to work for your skin. (The medicine that the dermatologist prescribes you should be a part of this).

If you have any questions about fighting acne feel free to ask!

Matte Series Pt. 1: Yellow, Orange & Purple!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

Lateley I’ve been super in to matte eyeshadow, so I started a matte series! For part one I used yellow, bright orange and purple. I saw this beautiful look on @sydneylilian and I had to recreate it! It’s an easy look to do, as long as you blend, blend and blend. Don’t be afraid to take the purple a little up in the crease.

Brown/Taupe Look!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

Sooooo I was doubting whether I should post this look or not, because my camera had been acting up lately. The pictures turned out even more orange than with the Barbie Pink Look, so I had to edit them. In real life the eye make-up looks waaaay more taupe. I’m so sorry you guys can’t see it. I was actually really proud, because I (again) stepped out of my comfort zone and used cool toned colors.

But life is not perfect and neither am I, that’s why I still wanted you guys to see this look. Often there is a picture portrayed on Instagram and (beauty)blogs that everything is super glamorous and everything always turns out perfect. But, that’s not true. At all.

No worries though, I am taking a photography course to fix this on going problem with my camera, so that I can learn everything about all the technicalities and improve my work.

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

Here are my favourite outfits I’ve seen on the Gram last month. I loooooove the oversized white blazer look. It’s a must have staple piece for this summer, because it’s an item that will look good with almost anything. You can style the blazer with jeans, cycling shorts, sneakers, slipper, heels and about everything else you want to style it with. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

9 Steps To An Easy At Home Facial!

¡Hola Guapas y Guapos!

We’re probably stuck at home for awhile due to the Corona virus. This means a lot of free time at home and unfortunately no hair, nails or facial appointments. I’ve been seeing some funny memes going around about how we would look after the lockdown is over. To avoid looking like a total Gremlin when the lockdown is over here is my guide to an easy at home facial, that you can do up to two times a week.

  1. Double cleans your skin. (Firstly I cleans my skin using a konjac sponge with my oil-mix containing tea tree oil, baobab oil and jojoba oil. As a second cleanser I use the Kiehl’s Centella Sensitive Facial Cleanser)
  2. Steam your face for about 10-15 minutes. Boil water and put it in a bowl or pan. Don’t put it in a plastic bowl, you don’t want the plastic molecules steaming your face. You can add your favourite oil to the steaming water if you want to (I like to add tea tree oil). Drape a towel over your head, so it ‘falls’ down on the sides of your head and the bowl with steaming water, ‘trapping the steam’. Place your face close enough to the steaming water, but not too close, otherwise you might burn yourself.
  3. Extract white heads and black heads using a paper tissue. Be very gently with this, because you don’t want to damage your skin. And never, never, never ever do this with your nails or bare finger tops.
  4. Apply a face mask that is suitable for your skin type. (I usally use the double glow peel mask and the quenching mineral mask from Vichy)
  5. Use a toner to seal off the pores. If toner is too harsh for your skin you can skip this step or use micellair water.
  6. Apply a serum to deliver a strong shot of ingredients directly into your skin. (I use the Thermal Rehydrating Serum from Vichy)
  7. Apply your eye cream. The skin around your eyes is very thin and needs lots of moisture too! (I use the Aquaporin Active Revitalising Eye Care from Eucerin)
  8. Moisturize your face, because we all know by now moisturize is key. Even if you have oily skin it is still very important to moisturize your face (of course with a moisturizer for oily skin), because this can actually help extreme oiliness. (I use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm)
  9. And last but not least apply a lip balm to your lips. (I use the Intensive Lip Balm from Eucerin)

If you use an overnight face mask, you can apply the face mask before or after you’ve applied the serum. If you have any more questions or just want to share your at home facial experience please let me know!

Besos, Sarai Isabel.

P.S. I want to point out that I am fully aware that not being able to get a facial or your nails done is a luxury problem.
